Important Notice of Pole Inspections

Starting as early as December 4th, the Electric department will have a contractor in town inspecting poles. Utility Asset Management is the name of the company. They will have two trucks in town that will have, “Contractor for the City of Laurinburg”, magnetic signs on their vehicles. They will be entering customer’s yards to inspect poles, and will be in town into February.

Recyclables Update

We have relocated the mixed recyclables dumpster and the corrugated cardboard dumpster just inside the Recycle center gate to the left. They will be clearly marked and easy to find. The Recycle center gate is open Monday – Friday from 7 AM to 4:45 PM. The address for the Recycle Center is 600 Hall Street.

Press Release – Parking and Drive-Thru Window

CITY HALL PARKING AND DRIVE-THRU WINDOW

Laurinburg, N.C. – November 16, 2017 – Due to ongoing construction of the New City Hall & Police Department at 303 W. Church St., some additional parking areas will be closed.  Also, the  the right lane coming off Church St. for the drive-thru window access will also be closed.

 

The parking areas that will be closed, beginning Monday, November 27, 2017, include the parking on the back southern end of the lot near the grassy area.  The south entrance to the parking area off Everett St. near the old park will also be closed at that time.  These areas will be closed indefinitely, with re-opening dependent on construction progress.

 

The right lane of the entrance to City Hall off Church Street is scheduled to be closed immediately.  While the left lane of this entrance will still be open, this entrance will be for drive-thru window payments only.  As a reminder, utility payments can also be made online at www.laurinburg.org or by phone by calling the automated phone system at (910) 276-1521 and following the prompts.

 

The safety of employees, contractors, and customers that come to the City Hall to conduct business is the top priority and the reason for taking these measures.  Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated while we work through this transitional period.

Press Release – Recycling Drop Off

City hall recycling drop-off

Laurinburg, N.C. – November 16, 2017 – Due to ongoing construction of the New City Hall & Police Department at 303 W. Church St., which will require closing access to a large portion of that site, the City’s Recycling Drop-Off behind City Hall will be closed indefinitely, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017.

 

The City collects recyclable material curbside from all residents on a bi-weekly basis.  Please place all recyclable items in your blue cart (not in bags) and place your cart beside the road for collection every other week on your day of collection.  If you are unsure what week (Red or Green) your recycling will be collected, please call the Public Works Facility at (910) 276-2364, and we will be glad to assist you with any questions or concerns.

 

The safety of employees, contractors, and customers that come to the City Hall to conduct business is the top priority, along with limited space that will be available on the site during construction, are the reasons for taking this measure.  Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated while we work through this transitional period.
