AMENDED STATE OF EMERGENCY – HURRICANE FLORENCE

Laurinburg, N.C. – September 12, 2018, – The State of Emergency declaration signed by Mayor Block yesterday has been amended to include a curfew as follows:

A. Curfew.

1. No person not exempted by this proclamation shall appear in public in the areas of jurisdiction of the City of Laurinburg between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. midnight or between the hours of 12:00 a.m. midnight and 7:00 a.m. of any day.

2. This curfew shall apply to the areas of jurisdiction of the City of Laurinburg

3. The following classes of people are exempt from these curfew restrictions in the circumstances indicated below:

(a) Any police or public safety officer or other government employee engaged in official business;

(b) Any member, volunteer or employee of an organization providing disaster relief services;

(c) Any person in transit from a place where they were temporarily engaged and could not have planned their departure to avoid the curfew.

(d) Any medical service provider engaged in delivering medical services.

(e) Members of the news media engaged in duties essential to providing public information.

All of the above individuals must carry proper identification.

This curfew shall take effect on September 13, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. and shall remain in effect until modified or rescinded
