Before you buy property or sign a lease to open a business, a call or trip to the City’s Planning and Zoning Office located at 305 West Church Street would be wise so that you can ensure that the property you are considering buying or renting is zoned for the business you are proposing and that it can meet all requirements of the City’s Zoning Ordinance or Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). Our Zoning Officers will be able to guide you through the process and refer you to any other agencies such as the Fire Department, Health Department, Building Inspections, etc., that you may need to contact before opening your business.
