FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW CITY HALL OPENING

Laurinburg, N.C. – April 25, 2019 – City staff located in the Administrative Building at 203 Atkinson Street and in the Municipal Building located at 303 West Church Street will be moved and operating in the New City Hall & Police Department facility effective Monday, April 29th, 2019. The offices or departments affected include the City Manager, City Clerk, Human Resources, Community Development, GIS/Cemetery, Planning/Zoning, Beautification, Finance, Consumer Billing, and Police.

While these city offices will begin operating out of the new facility, please continue to be aware of construction activities that will be ongoing until the project is complete, to include the demolition of the old municipal building, and the completion of the parking, drive-thru lane, and landscaping. Customers and residents conducting business with the City will be able to park in the new, but unfinished parking area and walk by the new drive-thru window to the front of the building to enter. Those that need wheelchair access can continue to park on Everett Street and use the sidewalk along Church Street to the front of the new building to enter. Please do not drive up to the new drive-thru window as it will remain closed until the entire project is complete.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue to work through these transitions with you.

Additional press releases will be forthcoming for any other issues affecting customer access to city services at City Hall.
