Thanksgiving Holiday

The City of Laurinburg offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23rd and Friday, Nov. 24th for the Thanksgiving holiday. The residential garbage, bulky items and recycling route for Thursday, will be picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd. The commercial dumpsters for Thursday and Friday of that week will be picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd, while the cardboard dumpsters for Wednesday will be picked up on Tuesday.

CONSUMER BILLING DEPARTMENT CLOSED FRIDAY
Laurinburg, N.C. – July 19, 2023 – Due to a major billing software upgrade, the City of Laurinburg Consumer Billing Department will not be able to process any utility bill payments nor be able to access customer accounts and will be closed to the public on Friday, July 21, 2023. Customers may still drop their payments off at the payment drop-off box located in the parking lot at City Hall. The phone payment and web payment portals will also not be available during this software outage. No late penalties will be assessed until Monday, July 24, 2023, due to this software outage. The Consumer Billing Department is scheduled to resume operations on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. All other offices at City Hall will be open to the public. For all other business or services conducted at City Hall, residents and customers are asked to come inside the lobby and follow the signage to locate the department/office needed.

Fourth of July Fireworks Display

FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAY

The City will be holding its Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Display on Tuesday, July 4th. The fireworks will be lit from the same lot as usual, north of the baseball field along Railroad Street. The parking lots at Scotland High School will be open for parking. The Fireworks Display will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m., depending upon light conditions, and will last approximately 30 minutes.

Please come out and celebrate Independence Day!

Anyone who has any physical condition that may be affected by bright flashing or flickering lights and/or loud noises, including photosensitive epilepsy, is advised that the Fireworks Display contains bright flashing and flickering lights and loud noises, and you are advised to take any and all necessary precautions to protect yourself against these potential health risks.

Free Firewood

FREE FIREWOOD – NO LIMIT!!! You are welcome to bring your chainsaw to cut and take as much wood as you need.Come by the Public Works office first to sign in at 503 Hall Street in Laurinburg and we will show you where the pile of wood is. Hours are Monday – Thursday 7am-4pm. Our gate closes at 4:45pm so you must be gone before it closes. Call 910-276-2364 if you have any questions about the wood.
